Software¶

Many software packages are provided by the TU Delft for several platforms. These packages are either preinstalled or can be installed either by the user or by the central ICT department after sending a request to the helpdesk servicepunt-tnw@tudelft.nl. Depending on the installation type of your computer or the server you are using it is also possible to install other non-provided packages yourself.

Windows 10¶

All recent Windows desktops and laptops bought via the TU Delft are preinstalled with Windows 10 and are equipped with basic software like Microsoft Office. Other packages can be installed with the Software Center as described below. Still other software can be found on the website https://software.tudelft.nl. For the latter you will need access to the local administrator account. You can send an e-mail to the helpdesk to request this access.

The software available in Software Center can be installed when you have a wired connection the campus network or a wifi connection to TUDSTUD (not EDUROAM). You can also install this software at home after you connect your computer to the campus VPN. Instructions on how to set this up can be found here: vpn. The following example installs the Xming software via the Software Center. This package allows you to display graphic output from a remote server via an ssh-connection (see ssh):
